Who We Are

Founded by Renske Lambert, Futures Design leverages over 20 years of global experience in the fashion industry. Having led product design, development, range strategy, and sustainability teams for brands and retailers across Europe and Asia, Renske specializes in the strategic translation of trend research.

Driven by a passion to uncover the deeper-rooted origins of global shifts and inspire others, she founded Futures Design.

Futures Design is built to declutter the amount of noise and translate relevant trend intelligence into modular and bespoke foresight strategies for designers, businesses and suppliers.

Strategic advantage is found in the science of horizon scanning, filtering and timing.

 

It begins with understanding how direction forms, what events cause shifts, and what shifts create long-term trends. As trends move through stages of influence before reaching commercial relevance, we chart the evolution of a trend to ensure you enter the market at the moment of peak relevance—not peak saturation.

Monitor Signals of Change: We gather early signals found in culture, society, technology and design. 

Pattern Recognition and Analysis: We identify which signals merge into drivers, the forces that power future trends and explain the "why" behind shifting consumer behavior.

Mapping the Trajectory: We plot each driver onto our impact radar, connecting them to the relevant macrotrends, to determine its velocity and stage in the trend evolution timeline, from early adoption to mainstream saturation.

Designing Futures: We translate these trend drivers into annual and seasonal concepts. Our design pillars, color directions, and commercial opportunities, help you decide what to lead with, what to support, and what to avoid.
